Re: Stelling leaving SSN
Haven't watched it for years but used to watch it years ago and it was really good in the years of Marsh, Best & co, Stelling was likeable and did the job of being a fan first and not overstepping the mark with opinions.

Haven't watched for ages, but I used to really like Stelling, much as I liked watching Andy Gray on a Monday night when sky sports started, it was so different and fresh.

Re: Stelling leaving SSN
He IS 66 & you'd also think after years sitting with his old mates that hanging out with Tim Sherwood & Clinton Morrison isnt QUITE the same.
Imagine he will pop up in some part time media role that doesnt mean travelling from Hartlepool to London every week.

Her fame was built off the back of her ancestors owning slaves, will she apologise and offer reparations?

I’d be happy with Alex Scott fronting every football programme on the telly. She is simply outstanding.

The time is fast approaching when Sky Sports will be no more, with BT going to DAZN, seems pretty clear that Sky will be next, death throws on all fronts

Hopefully, thinking about it, DAZN will reunite GS and the boys

Re: Stelling leaving SSN
My son grew up watching Jeff with me always loved the bloke and absolutely brilliant at what he does.

C&P BBC

The 66-year-old, who has presented the show since 1994, made the announcement on Saturday and was met with a standing ovation by fellow pundits.

Hartlepool fan Stelling, who joined Sky in 1992, does not intend to retire.

"I have come to the incredibly difficult decision that this will be my last season," he said.

"This is my decision - there has been no pressure. Sky have been absolutely brilliant with me, as they always have been.

"I am not intending to retire but it is time to let somebody else have a go at what is the best job in the world."

He added: "I have loved every moment of my 30 years with Sky, but like every Saturday afternoon the time eventually comes to blow the final whistle.

"I am proud to have been part of such a winning team for so long and look forward to the many more special moments on Soccer Saturday for the rest of this season - and perhaps even another promotion push from Hartlepool United."

Re: Stelling leaving SSN
In his book he says how he loved it when they all stayed at a hotel overnight on Fridays to ‘research’ the following day’s football. Nothing major but a weekly munch and a few drinks with his football mates, followed by watching the football on a Saturday.

Replace that with a lot of ‘box ticking’ and no wonder the dynamic has gone for him. He’s been outstanding for years but it’s just not the same job any more. I wouldn’t be surprised if the old lot all got back together again in some way.

Re: Stelling leaving SSN
At somepoint this will result in a new broadcaster that wont bother with diversity quotas for onscreen talent (is that legal?), just whoever gels best. more people would watch it obviously
